The design is inspired by the art of time-hourglass. The hourglass is a symbol of time. When the sun is born, it is a "coat rack"; at noon, it can be used as a "shelf"; when night falls, it can be used as a "table lamp". The changes in different functions remind people to follow the direction of time and perceive the beauty of life.

Production Technology
Hourglass shelf consists of three colored stainless steel, two environmental protection plates of different sizes as the laminate. Laminate and metal stainless steel are connected with angle iron screws. The screw at the top of the rack can be used as a coat hook. The user can take off the lamp and use it in different scenarios.
Design Challenge
The biggest challenge in the process of realization and research is to realize "one plus one more than two ", which combines the two basic functions properly, not only to meet the basic needs, but also to further provide users with fun. Happiness is the biggest challenge in research.
Project Duration
The project started in Shenzhen in July 2020 and finished in Shenzhen in January 2021.
Operation Flow
You can put bags, clothes and other items on the shelf, then bring the hourglass lamp to the sofa, read a book leisurely, or use it in your courtyard to enjoy a moment of silence at night.
Research
With modern people's work, overtime is getting busier and busier, every night tired back home, we mechanically touch the switch, throw away bags, clothing. This is not a positive way of life. So we have investigated more than two hundred people and studied their living habits. We hope to solve the dissatisfaction in daily life, find people's daily life needs, and improve people's happiness. Based on these, we combine the opinions provided by the participants and hope to combine people's needs and develop a product to simplify people's doing tedious and boring things, as well as interactive and fun products.
Inspiration
Design inspiration comes from the art of time. The hourglass is the symbol of time, and the charm of time affects the tide ups and downs, years change. When the morning sun was born, the hourglass was a "coat rack "; at noon, it was a" shelf "; when night fell, it became a "lamp ". The change of different roles reminds people to follow the direction of time, perceive the years and harvest exquisite life.
Project Overview
Hourglass Multifunctional Shelf has been a Silver winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
