Armchair for LZ-interiors
Changing attitudes towards energy resources are making changes in everyday life. The rethinking of traditional technologies for processing natural materials brings additional properties and functions to furniture items. The chair, created by analogy with felt boots, makes it possible not only to relax, but also maintains a comfortable temperature, which is important in cool seasons. The rounded, flowing shapes are ergonomic and evoke associations with the prototype, traditional natural woolen footwear. A cute detail from childhood: mitten pockets on the armrests.

The streamlined chair is made using a light polymer frame, furniture fillers and natural woolen fabric. Like the prototype, felt boot, the chair is conceived as a light, durable, comfortable and warming piece of furniture. The frame made of lightweight polymer allows to reduce weight and ensure ergonomics during operation, while the natural woolen coating maintains a comfortable temperature. There are mitten pockets on the armrests of the chair, in which you can comfortably warm your hands.

Safe plastic was used to create the frame. Furniture filling polyurethane, and natural wool fabric with mohair content by Pierre Frey.
The main goal of the projects was the idea to embody traditional material, warm emotional component and modern piece of furniture.
The development of the chair began in September and continued until the end of November 2021 in Moscow, Russia.
This lightweight chair can be moved around the room with one hand. On cooler days, it will keep you warm thanks to its hugging shape and natural fluffy wool upholstery. Your hands will not freeze, they will be warm in the pockets-mittens on the armrests, even during a long time watching your favorite movie.
Saving energy resources today, many people are more responsible for heating their homes and lower the temperature in the room. Referring to the living conditions of previous generations, wanted to use traditional technologies of felting wool in pieces of furniture. Wool is environmentally friendly and helps to keep warm as much as possible. Having tried several methods of felting wool for the production of furniture elements, a compromise option was born using upholstery fabrics made of wool and mohair.
In Siberia, in cold seasons, they traditionally used felted wool shoes - felt boots. They served as the prototype for this chair. Like felt boots, the upper layer of the chair is covered with a soft woolen fabric containing mohair. Childhood recollection - they sewed mittens to the kids on an elastic band and passed them through the sleeves so that they would not get lost. Small pockets on the armrests are mittens for your hands.
