This object represents the two protagonist cities of the international year of glass. Milan and Venice Milan represented with the geometry and transparency of the top and base, its skyline which in recent years has seen this transformation with glass as the protagonist in the buildings of various shapes thrown towards the sky such as in Piazza Gae Aulenti and City Life. the object was included in the precious ADI DESIGN INDEX 2023 and used as a symbol for the International Year of Glass 2022 in Milan and Venice

The glass blocks are subjected to a heating treatment, and are immersed in water, causing them to shatter into small pieces. With the recovered pieces, small agglomerates of glass are created which are placed in a melting furnace. The table top and the base are produced in extra-clear Float glass 8 mm thick thermally tempered and subsequently worked on the edges with a polished edge grinding.
the challenge was to combine two similar materials, colored glass and float glass, achieving a union that generates an effect of color and transparency, inspired by the colors of the Venice lagoon and the landscape of Milan at dawn
the project started in Milan in April 2022, carried out in Modena at the headquarters and finished in August 2022 at the company headquarters
it is a table and can be used as a dining table or a desk
the research carried out for this project was to represent with glass a symbolic object for the Italian capitals of design in the international year of glass. create a bridge that combines design, art and technology in a single object. combine artistic glass with Float technical glass with new technologies.
Milan with transparency and geometry Venice with plays of color that here become drops of the lagoon fused on the tempered glass float plate, every shape, gesture and color has its own meaning. The transparency of flat glass and the transparency of colored glass with colors inspired by the play of light at dawn on the sea of the Venice lagoon.
