As a design form, it has a structure that includes people and gives confidence. It is large enough for families to sleep next to their children when necessary. It can also be used safely by mothers who use a bedside cradle during the newborn period. It can then be used with extra attachable safety barriers to help provide safety and comfort while supporting baby's independence. It can also be easily used in a teenager's room in the future.
Baby bed, natural, simple design, atlas, children, nursery, kids
The bed is made entirely of oak wood and the varnish on it is water-based. Since water-based polishes do not contain lead, they are suitable for baby/child use. We prefer hard and age-defying oak wood in our timeless design. There are no sharp, pointed edges or splinters. No more than 2 3/8 inches (about the width of a soda can) between crib slats so a baby's body cannot fit through the slats; no missing or cracked slats. No cutouts in the headboard or foot board so a baby's head cannot get trapped. Safe and long-term use is ensured as the weight is distributed evenly even when used by parents, thanks to the knobby feet placed with special dimensions and the mdf under the bed.
The challenge at the beginning of the design was that the subject was a baby product and that the materials to be used would not harm the baby. The lead component found in furniture polish and adhesives was one of the factors that challenged us in the design. We solved this problem with water-based adhesive and polish products. We chose oak as raw material.
The project started in Istanbul in April-February 2023 and was completed in Istanbul in July 2024.
It allows the newborn baby to sleep more comfortably with its mother and allows the child up to 15 squints to sleep physiologically comfortably. Its design is in soft colors and is compatible with all areas. It minimizes injuries to children with its rounded lines.
Before starting the design, the design was started by doing research on the problem of babies having to stay with their mothers for a while after birth and then not sleeping in their own beds. The focus is on the mother and baby being able to use the bed from the first day, the places where the necessary equipment can be connected, and the child being able to use his own bed in the future. The design was considered to be child-friendly and ergonomic.
It is designed for our precious childs to have a long, quality and safe sleep with a single product. The bed design, whose ergonomics and proportions are considered so that the parent can sleep together, is formally arranged for the baby's comfortable and safe sleep.
