Every 120 seconds, someone drowns globally, and seemingly healing environments like hot springs and swimming pools have unexpectedly become silent threats. The Hydrasentinel smart band was created to address this risk. In addition to the standard features found in most bracelets on the market, its circular screen flashes rapidly in moments of danger. The thermal induction design of the strap provides a warming alert, while the speaker on the right emits a loud alarm when body temperature drops too low. Simultaneously, the internal vibration module delivers a warning. These four key design features work together to ensure water safety, earning it the title of Protector in Water.

This smart band exemplifies the seamless integration of advanced materials and technology. Crafted from titanium alloy, glass, ceramics, silicone rubber, and a temperature-sensitive, color-changing coating, it offers exceptional properties such as corrosion resistance, lightweight design, environmental sustainability, and high strength. Equipped with an innovative flexible chip array, the bracelet accurately collects physical data and collaborates with AI to develop personalized, reliable training plans. Thanks to advancements in materials science and engineering, it not only delivers professional-grade performance but also redefines comfort, making it ideal for extreme sports and medical monitoring. The rubber strap is ingeniously designed with a temperature-sensitive, color-changing coating that provides intuitive visual feedback in different water temperatures. This enhances both safety and early warning functions while adding a stylish touch, redefining the functional value of wearable devices.
Cultural Empowerment: The deep integration of philosophical concepts into industrial design requires continuous practice to achieve the cultural enrichment of products. Social Recognition: It is essential to increase the recognition of wearable devices among the target user group. Industrial Production: Ongoing optimization of industrial aesthetics is necessary to achieve a balance between functionality and visual appeal. Technical Limitations: Overcoming the challenges of precision manufacturing in encapsulating chips within titanium alloy cavities is crucial. Additionally, technical issues such as miniaturization, power consumption, and signal interference. The resulting is from the integration of multi-modal sensors.
The project started in September 2024 in Shanghai, China, and finished in January in Shanghai, China.
Inspired by the Water Drop, this smart bracelet features a screen designed to mimic condensed water droplets and a strap adorned with flowing ripple patterns which curves symbolizing the eternal connection between life and nature. Through the deep integration of biomimetic curved surface structures and ergonomic principles, it optimizes biomechanics to deliver a groundbreaking wearing experience. With a zero-button interaction design, it incorporates full-touch operation and an AI-powered vital signs monitoring system, creating a multi-dimensional safety network with millisecond-level anomaly detection. The design shifts from passive usage to active guardianship, enabling a seamless loop from data collection to crisis intervention. This embodies the core philosophy that design is not merely an aesthetic expression but a vessel for life care. More than just a wearable device, it serves as a visual language, allowing wearers to communicate with their water environment.
Life safety risks arise from underwater activities such as hot spring bathing, swimming, and diving. This research aims to explore the application of scientific technology and industrial production in addressing real-world social challenges. Research Type is Health management research, appearance design research, industrial design research. Research Objective is to develop an industrial product that balances aesthetics, human-centered care, and environmental sustainability. The iterative design method is employed, with product effects demonstrated through 3D printing and computer rendering technologies. Participants are designers, model makers, scholars, and target consumers, all of whom contributed to the design process and testing. This study explores the integration of industrial products with the medical industry, expanding the commercial potential of industrial product manufacturing. The design, specifically tailored for elderly users, embodies a spirit of human centered care. Its unique shape and underlying philosophical concepts reflect a deep commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development. By infusing industrial products with spiritual and symbolic value, the design has a profound impact on both business and society.
Behind the annual global toll of 235,000 drowning deaths lie countless unseen crises in water related environments such as hot springs and swimming areas. HydraSentinel was created from a deep understanding of human survival instincts. We refuse to let fluctuations in blood pressure, sudden drops in blood oxygen levels, or imbalances in body temperature become invisible threats. By combining intelligent design with technological innovation, it redefines water safety and safeguards the rhythm of life.
