Stainless steel sheet is selected for constructing such table due to the potential delicacy of this material. In order to achieve the excellent quality in construction, it has been tried to design the details so that the welding place is not visible on the surfaces of the table as much as possible. To minimize human error in construction, some guidelines are applied on each piece, which can be connected together like a puzzle. Moreover, CNC laser cutting and CNC machining on metal have been utilized to construct this table.
The main challenge of this project was to create new and innovative forms from a traditional pattern and motif so when you see the whole pattern, its authenticity takes you back in time while you are still use that with modern furniture.
I have researched on Iranian-Islamic geometric designs and patterns in the last year and have been trying to design some furniture which is inspired by ancient Iranian architectural motifs. This projects that I have done are the results of this endeavor. The project started in august 2019 in Tehran and finished in June 2020 in Tehran
All of the details of this table have been designed in a way that a labor with intermediate skill can terminate the producing process with high quality
Research on this project has been in line with other projects of the Haf collection, which focuses on constructing furniture by metal materials while using Iranian architectural motifs and naturalistic inspirations in its form. Although Iranians have a thousand-year-old cultural heritage, they are also extremely interested in modern lifestyle.
A modern inspiration from a post modern monument. One of the most significant visual elements in iranian art and architecture is geometric patterns.khayyam’s design is an effort to create a modern product from an ancient geometry.
