Unique Properties
This cat litter scoop is designed for clay cat litter. It features the continuous arrangement of ridgeline holes; this provides cat owners with such a quick and easy way to scoop the waste that they don’t even need to shake the scoop at all! The structural design of the U-shaped scoop allows the shovel to be easily used at various angles, and strengthens the structural integrity of the plastic. It also makes it easy to collect and dispose of the clumps. The handle is made with the natural wood, which is an improvement over the uncomfortable and unstable-feeling grip of a standard plastic scoop.

Production Technology
The scoop consists of two parts. The spade is made by injection molding and the handle is made of wood.
Design Challenge
The most difficult aspects to bring this product to the market are the cost and material selection. As well, the number of cat owners who are willing to replace their current cat litter scoop for a new design with a comfortable grip and rapid operation is something to consider.
Project Duration
The project started in August 2020 and finish in December 2012 in Taipei.
Operation Flow
The operation is the same as for an ordinary cat litter scoop.
Research
After interviewing consumers and researching reviews on the internet, we found that most of complaints about litter scoops are all about the problem of slow sifting, and the handle feeling flimsy or uncomfortable to grip. Although some users may consider cleaning the cat box as not taking much time and do not pay much attention to it, using improperly designed cat litter scoops often turns a simple task into a chore that takes up a lot of cumulative time.
Inspiration
I have noticed that when many cat owners try to scoop the waste from the litter box, they need to continuously keep shaking the scoop to shake all the litter out before they dispose of the waste. Most cat owners have this kind of trouble, especially in using a plastic litter scoop. After observation, I found that redesigning the holes of the litter scoop can save time sieving cat litter.
