Seaview is a unique household luminary that there is no obvious switch. It has a simplified form and is flexible for adjust brightness. Its switch is integrated into the bulb. Users simply need to put their hand on the sun or moon and push it gently to switch the lamp on and off. At the same time, the brightness and the light color is also increased and decreased through this way which create classic and romantic atmosphere.

Unique Properties

This is a lamp design with no external switch. Its appearance and function are unique. Its bulbs are in the shape of the sun and moon. This is a very rare appearance. As for functionality, the biggest difference is that it has no obvious on/off switch. Its switches are integrated into the sun and moon. All users can put their hand on bulb and give it a little push to turn the light on and off. The sun shines white and the moon shines yellow. Users can also adjust its brightness and color in this way. That's what makes it unique. This unique design can give users a better experience.

Production Technology

The shell of the product is made of aluminum alloy, which has low density, light weight, high strength and corrosion resistance. Suitable for frequent using. Its base is made of plastic, and the heat conduction is slow enough to keep the user from feeling cold.

Design Challenge

This is an innovative design with a complex internal structure, and the machining qualification rate is the biggest challenge encountered by this project.

Project Duration

The project started in September 2021 in Milan and finished in February 2022 in that place, and was exhibited in China in February 2022.

Operation Flow

First, users connect the seaview to a power source. Second, place your hand on the bulb and push the bulb clockwise to light it up. Third, continue pushing clockwise to increase brightness. Fourth, if you want to adjust white light to yellow light. Turn the bulb from the sun to the moon. Finally, if you want to lower the brightness or turn off the light, push the bulb counterclockwise.

Research

Desk lamp is the product that every family user will buy, have huge market. According to the survey, most lamps are priced below 30 euros. Now the shape of the desk lamp is more fixed. A unique and affordable lamp has great market value. Desk lamp basically is Illumination action, facilitate reading, study, work. As the ceaseless development of desk lamp appearance, modelling, desk lamp has far exceeded the value of desk lamp itself, the desk lamp has become an artwork.

Inspiration

Like the name, we were inspired by the seaside scenery. Every morning and night, the sun and moon rise above the sea. We think it's a good feeling for lamps because it's beautiful. I realized that the sun and moon are a circle when I enjoy the sunlight and moonlight at the seaside. At the same time the adjustment switch of most desk lamps is also round. So we combined the switch with the sun and moon to create this design.
