Coffe Table for HYC Furniture
Arc Table was inspired by the modern architectures and the ponderation of space design on how to composite structures that are not over-decorated and form a new pattern that is elegant and enchanted. The ARC stripes were made and connected using laminated veneer techniques which combine three strips to form a spherical structure. Each strip has to connect with two other strips thus each strip needs to have four joints to be set precisely. Because of the unique shape, the Table could easily fit in contemporary, it could act as furniture or a piece of art.

Unique Properties
The ARC stripes were made and connected using laminated veneer techniques which combines three strips to form a spherical structure. Design Challenge
The table has an unique structural placement which creates challenges when it’s being crafted: To form the shape and the accurate joint angle, which requires a huge amount of calculation when bending and making joint each pieces of wood, is one of the key challenges when crafting.
Project Duration
The project started in 2021 in Taipei and completed in 2022 in Taipei.
Research
This is an outstanding Table made out of hardwood with overcome various of structural challenges and woodcrafting techniques. The Table is comfortable with its own personality, unique, light in weight and with a pretty structure and appearance.
Inspiration
This table is inspired by ARC Guitar Stand, the first creation of ARC series which is also an original HYC creation. ARC creation was inspired by the modern architectures and the ponderation of space design on how to composite structures that are not over-decorated and form a new pattern that is elegant and enchanted.

Arc Coffe Table has been a Iron winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
