Raw coffee cups Series consist of espresso, americano mug, latte mug, teacup and dripper products. Each product is intended to have a different design detail in itself and is designed to improve the coffee experience of the user. Protruding structures made in the body design have been added to clarify and deepen the light and shadow reflections. It was aimed to make the products look different on the table and to increase the experience.

Design Challenge

The challenge in this project was arranging the size of dripper. We analyzed the datas about Pour-Over Coffee brewing ritual and came up with the perfect dimensions. It has a chamber for brewing coffee for maximum 2 people. It can hold up to 24 grams of coffee in total. It is also a very light product with the savings in porcelain material. At the same time, drippers have a rolling problem when placed sideways on the table. We wanted to resolve this issue. Thanks to its carved outer surface, we prevented sliding and rolling movements.

Operation Flow

You can choose our Raw product family group to enjoy your coffee routine. Feel the heat of the coffee while touching the carves on your cup and enjoy brewing your coffee. Research

By observing the ritual of brewing coffee, we adjusted the measures that can take a measure of coffee into the drippers' chamber. We also revised our project by taking the opinions of baristas and coffee lovers. In conclusion, we designed lighter forms and came up with shell and jellyfish looking carvings on the outside of the surfaces. Which represents our passion in coffee.

Inspiration

Raw collections form inspiration comes from random pattern sketches with a pretty dreamy and passionate sense. The collection has points that inspired from natural forms and sea animal patterns. We wanted to create an organic and dynamic form to adapt it to the coffee brewing ritual.

Project Overview

Raw Coffee Cup Series has been a Bronze winner in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design award category in the year 2022 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
