Design Challenge

The challenge is how to maximize the kitchen smoke and air purification with a ceiling-mounted structure. Therefore, the product adopts a stepped side for the largest air inlet and outlet part for efficient air purification.

Project Duration

The project was designed at Tianmei Electric R&D Center in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, in February 2022, and launched in China in June 2022.

Operation Flow

The lighting effect of LED annular lighting ring can be customized by hand gestures, WiFi and remote control and stepped sides supports air introduction, filtration, and music player, which also contributes to a more hierarchical view.

Research

The product R&D focuses on the increasingly intelligent and integrated lifestyle: no longer just a cooking area, the kitchen is a part of home space with interaction elements, integrating with the functions of the living room. This idea contributes to the kitchen with multiple functions. This is a minimalist product that can match spaces such as semi-open kitchens and closed kitchens after the functional coordination and appearance design.

Inspiration

As the kitchen has become a part of home living space, the users need for a kitchen hood is changing. The invisible integration design makes the hood user-friendly. The addition of an annular lighting ring and music player contributes to a more intelligent user experience and a kitchen-based lighting effect.

Project Overview

Ceiling Style Range Hood has been a Iron winner in the Home Appliances Design award category in the year 2022 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
