This project is a part of the branded collection by Anni Teriani. The designer offers kids seven signature patterns for the backpack. And gives children the opportunity to discover their uniqueness through colours.
Digital design, digital print, cotton canvas, packpack, textile design, textile pattern, print
The design project was realized using software to create signature digital textile patterns. After experimentation with various colourways and textiles, the designer preferred the natural base and use cotton canvas for digital printing. Digital printing techniques reproduced the original colour-pattern combinations. Also, the selected textile base has advantages - density gives a backpack additional rigidity and the correct form product.
There are several factors to consider when choosing a textile base that can accurately showcase the colours' shadows. Firstly, the material itself plays a significant role. Some fabrics tend to absorb colour, resulting in a duller appearance, while others reflect light, creating a brighter and more vibrant effect. It is crucial to select a material that allows for accurate colour reproduction while maintaining the desired level of shadow definition.
The project started in January 2021 in Dubai and finished in August 2022 in Dubai.
The backpack's round form with a zipper on the top can be worn by a handle or on the shoulder and back with two adjustable shoulder straps. A small pocket with a push button is on the front of the backpack, and kids can store little diferent things inside. Backpacks can be part of diferent looks and outfits.
Colours are very important for children as a discovery tool of the world and a communication tool which offers a different way of talking about how we feel. Colour is emotional: it is an immediate way in which we experience the world. Colours affect moods. While perceptions of colour are somewhat subjective, some effects have universal meaning. Children have positive reactions to bright colours and negative emotions to dark colours. Children's emotional reactions to colours have prompted a designer to create bright and vibrant colour combinations for the backpack collection.
Psychological studies on colour theory and the link between colours, emotions and feelings inspired the designer to create distinctive textile motifs for children's backpacks. Childhood is a very creative lifetime. The designer believes in each child's uniqueness, creativity and significance. Kids explore the world through feelings and senses. A signature colour combination used for The Colorfeel Rucksack allows children to express themselves and their individuality.
