Chair for Hamoun Design and Idea
Shahrokh means the one who has a magnificent face. Shahrokh's general form is inspired by the traditional sitting pattern in Iran and the Middle East. In the past, people in these lands used to sit on the ground and used a kind of ground chair called mukhta for comfort. Shahrokh’s integrated mattress is designed with an eye to mukhta and is separated from the ground level for the possibility of contemporary use. The purpose of designing this chair was to achieve an object that is elegant and charismatic and shows itself in the architectural space.

Shahrokh ( the one who has a magnificent face) The purpose of designing this chair was to achieve an object that is elegant and charismatic and shows itself in the architectural space. Have a simple form but attract attention. For the design of Shahrokh, designer tried to make the final result harmonious in different spaces (with various functions).
elegant/charismatic/ Relaxing / comfortable / simplicity / lightness
Shahrokh consists of two main parts, a single mattress, which is connected to the foot and back parts, and a metal structure. Holes were made in the back and under the leather mattress so that the air between the fibers inside the mattress can escape and create more softness, and after the user of the mattress gets up, it breathes and returns to its previous state. The structure is made of bent metal pipes (diameter 1.5) and made in two pieces. The first part holds the mattress and the second part is the base of the chair. These two parts are connected by fine tubes (0.8 cm).
The strength of the delicate metal structure was one of the construction problems, which provided by the middle pipes. The second problem was to make it possible to vent the air of the leather mattress, which would prevent tearing or wear of the leather when sitting and standing up and provide more comfort. This problem was solved by installing several holes under and behind the mattress.
this project designed in 2019 in Tehran, Iran.
Shahrokh was designed in such a way that it has harmony with the space in various architectural functions and attracts the attention of the audience. The voluminous mattress was considered to provide more comfort for the user. The volume of the mattress in contrast with the delicacy of the structure shows a state of suspense in Shahrokh's face.
