3D Printed Vase for LuXun Academy of Fine Arts
Mila is a series of vases. Inspired by the chimneys on the roof of Mira Apartment, their curves and textures were refined to create the Mila series of vases. The collection includes vases in three different sizes, large, medium and small. Corresponding to different planting needs. Thanks to the use of veroClear translucent material based on Polyjet 3D printing technology, the vase appears hazy and mysterious. Moreover, the set of vases is an integrally formed double-layer structure, and the overlapping of the outer surface and the inner tank greatly enriches the layering of the vase.

It is interesting to extract the form of the chimney on the roof of Casa Mila and blend it to create a new form. How to integrate these elements and make the whole set of vases conform to the modern aesthetic is a challenge.
The project started in November 2022 and finished in February 2023 in LuXun Academy of Fine Arts.
Pour nutrient solution or water into the vase, put the aquatic plants in it, change the water and trim the plants regularly.
Abstract and analyze the shapes of the chimneys on the roof of Casa Mila to explore their rhythm. The modeling language of these chimneys is mostly spiraling lines or two-sided continuous texture patterns on the surface. Combining the two forms a brand-new form full of vitality, so as to explore the change of texture and the sense of power of form.
Inspired by the work of the famous designer Antoni Gaudi - the chimney on the roof of the Casa Mila. These chimneys are beautiful in shape and seem to be rising with the smoke, full of vitality. This work refines and changes the shape of the chimney on the roof of Mira Apartment, such as twisting and blanking, to make it more rhythmic and varied.
