Tree Pool for Luxun Academy of Fine Arts
In each autumn, fallen leaves are everywhere on the street, not be used. To figure out a way of fallen leaves and give trees more fertilizer, the team find a solution in the tree pools design. Return to the Roots is the solution of fallen leaves. Semi-closed tree pool can effectively avoid water runoff. Trees are spread fertilizer which is rot by their own fallen leaves in the enclosed space formed by the tree pool, so as to increase soil nutrients and stimulate tree growth.

As we all agree that Mother Nature know what is the best, fallen leaves are the best fertilizer of trees. But before those leaves rot for a while, they are accumulated, compacted and watered by rain and snow. Return to the Roots is the solution of fallen leaves. By means of ingenious design of three-dimensional space, trees are spread fertilizer which is ret by their own fallen leaves in the enclosed space formed by the tree pool, so as to increase soil nutrients and stimulate tree growth.
Ecological Balance, Sustainable, Regeneration, redesign,
Our design is shaped by Cast iron molding technology.
The challenge of our design is that we cannot find a suitable material in hardness and ductility. After a number of tests in the selection of materials, we finally find the proper material which achieves the desired effect.
The project started in April 2015 in LAFA Communal Facility Design Studio and finished in August 2016 in National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Industrial Design in LAFA.
Our project is kind of model combination design, combine with 4 same parts. You can install all the parts before you set up the tree pool.
To offer a better solution of fallen leaves and give trees more fertilizer, we find a solution in the tree pools design. As we all know, the fallen leaves can be rotted by themselves and it is the best fertilizer of trees. Semi-closed tree pool can effectively avoid water runoff and protect soil moisture. We put the fallen leaves in our tree pool, give it a space in rotting.
By considering of Mother Nature always using new lives to replace the old one, every new leaves can be seen a regeneration of those fallen leaves. Just like the saying that Mother Nature always know what is the best, fallen leaves are the best fertilizer of trees. In each autumn, fallen leaves are everywhere on the street, not be used. So we offer you Re-leaf, the design of ecological tree pool, the best solution of fallen leaves.
