Production Technology
1. Use the main elements of Scandinavian design 2. Practicality: having a degree of freedom of choice and mixing and matching 3. Use the golden ratio: Fibonacci, superellipse, and ellipse to determine the shape, position, and size of components on the housing 4. Convert philosophy down to elements of a design - Lines: clean lines - Colors: focus and clarify neutrals (such as white, black, and gray) and muted colors - Shapes with 2D/3D form): not fussy, not too strong in personality, not too soft - Spaces & layout: follow the principle of prioritizing functionality and harmony with the environment, simple accents - Texture: The main material of the products is plastic matte finish - Size/scale: prioritize functionality and harmony 5. Design Challenge
The creative challenges and the obstacles are that we not only balance the production feasibility and the technology but also ensure the aesthetics. Furthermore, each user has a different standard regarding aesthetics. This is a real challenge for us to develop a camera that can fit users' tastes. We have spent around 5.000 hours to work from idea, sketch, mockup and do EVT, DVT to final product. For software, we use AI technology and cloud computing to get the best features and best customer experience. Moreover, we use Ambient designs which we think will meet the current modern lifestyle trend. Beside, we also use a safety material for the housing – ABS plastic.
Project Duration
The project started in September 2021, finished in February 2023 in Vietnam. We have just launched this FPT Camera Play on March, 28th, 2023 and it will be selling in Vietnam from this April.
Operation Flow
The Play camera is equipped with WiFi connection and a silicone stand, enabling easy installation and placement anywhere. Once the camera is plugged in and the WiFi button is pressed, users can control it through the FPT Camera multi-platform app. This app offers many functions, including panning up to 355 degrees, 2-way talk, face recognition, guard zone, and more. The Sony image sensor offers Full HD quality. Video data is recorded in real-time and stored safely and securely on the cloud.

The Play camera design takes its core inspiration from Scandinavian design, focusing on simplicity, minimalism, and functionality. It aims to complement the art of living well by promoting a simple home environment filled with quality items and enhancing an unencumbered lifestyle that is free from excessive consumerism.
