Design a sustainable, vertical coastal community in Hainan, integrating renewable energy, waste recycling, and local culture. Address challenges of limited land, environmental preservation, and rapid population growth. Aim for self-sufficiency, resilience, and harmony between traditional and modern lifestyles. The project should enhance biodiversity, promote community well-being, and set a new standard for sustainable coastal living.
The project was proposed in 2023 for Hainan Dan Family community in China.
Our new fishery skyscraper is designed like a self-sustaining village that rises up into the sky. It recycles almost everything - water, energy, and materials from fish farming. We've built it to make the most out of sunlight, sea waves, and even waste, turning them into power and resources. This reduces our need for outside supplies and helps keep the ocean clean. By breaking down waste and using it again, we're also helping to restore marine habitats like mangroves. It's our way of giving back to nature while supporting our community.
It integrates renewable energy, circular economy principles, and traditional culture into a sustainable living model. The project emphasizes environmental stewardship, energy self-sufficiency, and cultural preservation. Through innovative design and technology, SeaSync aims to address urban sprawl and environmental degradation, offering a blueprint for future coastal communities.
Inspired by the urgent need for sustainable living and the rich heritage of Hainan's Dan Family, the designer envisioned SeaSync Sustainable Community. Drawing from biomimicry, traditional fishing villages, and cutting edge environmental technologies, the project blends ecological principles with cultural preservation. Research on circular economies, renewable energy, and coastal ecosystems underpins its innovative design, aiming to create a harmonious, self-sustaining community.
