Biological Cell Sorting for Zipeng Zhang
Efficiently screening and analyzing antibody discovery is crucial for reducing time and costs in antibody drug development. Traditional hybridoma technology faces challenges like long cycles, limited diversity, and inadequate functional analysis, hindering progress. The AI nanobiochip technology in the Light Workbench can rapidly separate, analyze, culture, and export tens of thousands of single cells simultaneously, completing positive plasma cell screening in one day.

Such products may utilize a variety of production technologies, including optical-induced dielectrophoresis, microfluidics, micro-nano fabrication, laser technology, imaging and detection, as well as automation and control. These technologies work in concert to achieve precise manipulation, efficient sorting, rapid analysis, and automated processing of cells, thereby providing powerful tools for biomedical research.
The project started in December 2020 in Beijing and finished in August 2023 in Beijing.
First, the cells or other biological samples to be sorted are prepared and loaded into the microfluidic chip of the system. Then, the optical-induced dielectrophoresis technology is used to manipulate and sort the cells based on their properties. During this process, the imaging system captures the images of the cells, and the software analyzes the images in real-time to identify and classify the cells. Finally, the sorted cells are collected, and the results are output and processed for subsequent research.
In our research, we looked into a particular topic to gain more insights. We conducted experiments or studies, using various tools like scientific instruments or software, depending on what we were focusing on. If it involved people, we had participants; if it was about animals or cells, those were our subjects. Through our methods, we observed, collected data, and tested different conditions. The results revealed interesting findings, such as a new relationship or a significant change. These findings gave us new understandings and could point the way for future research.
The Optical Cell Sorting System is a breakthrough in cell sorting for biomedical research. It replaces time-consuming, sample-damaging manual sorting with optoelectronic dielectrophoresis, which precisely controls cells for efficient, undamaged sorting. This technology boosts accuracy and speed, providing a reliable, streamlined cell sorting and culture process. The Light Operator enhances lab efficiency, enabling scientists to advance cell research.
