ElectraLine is designed with sustainability and practicality in mind. Using warm, ecological materials such as responsibly sourced wood and durable metals, the structure prioritizes both aesthetics and environmental responsibility. The modular system ensures easy assembly and scalability, while the optional canopy integrates solar panels to harness renewable energy. Every detail, from integrated speakers to energy-efficient LED displays, has been thoughtfully developed to enhance user experience and sustainability.
The primary challenge was balancing modularity with recognizability. Designing a system that could evolve from a basic setup to an advanced station with a solar-integrated canopy required careful consideration of aesthetics, cost, and scalability. The use of respectful materials, such as wood and energy-efficient components, reflects our commitment to sustainable design without compromising on visual impact or functionality.
The project began in February 2024 in Paris, with design completion by June 2024. The first prototype was publicly unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 2024, generating significant interest. Deployment across Europe starts in February 2025, with initial installations in France, Belgium, Italy, and Spain.
ElectraLine simplifies the charging experience at every step. Users are guided by LED displays offering real-time information on availability, pricing, and charging progress. Comfortable seating and shaded areas invite users to relax while their vehicle charges. With a modular concept, the station can adapt to changing needs, including the addition of a canopy with solar panels. This ensures not only an energy-efficient infrastructure but also a forward-thinking approach to design that grows with its users.
The concept for ElectraLine was developed using a comprehensive framework that integrates user insights, sustainable design principles, and innovative technology. Through extensive research and workshops, we identified the need for an adaptable and approachable charging solution. The design merges functionality with aesthetics, ensuring that the stations not only meet technical requirements but also foster a positive user experience.
Electraline embodies a user first approach, addressing the needs of EV drivers with simplicity and elegance. Inspired by Electra’s values - approachability, simplicity, and sustainability - it combines cutting edge design with functionality. The concept centers on creating a charging station that is as inviting as it is efficient, ensuring a seamless integration of form, function, and user experience. Its modular design, built with respectful and sustainable materials, reflects our commitment to redefining public infrastructure.
