Our life is a never ending searching of pleasure and comfort. Everyone of us is trying to find the best balance between functionality and design and if we want the product to be economical that makes it even more difficult. With my close-coupled wc i was trying to find exactly this balance. It combines new approaches and technologies of increasing efficiency, saving water and materials and at the same time all this good stuff are hidden below a bold, monolith and extravagant design.

Production Technology
Live tests will allow us to understand which material will be better - Ceramic or Acrylic. Maybe other materials will be tested too.
Design Challenge
Maintain the original V-shape during technical and ergonomic transformations.
Project Duration
Almost one year, location - Bulgaria, Europe
Operation Flow
This close-coupled WC have tilted tank which allows the water to flush out easily than traditional 90 deg tanks. This modification increases the velocity, presure and force of the water. The WC also have 3 flush volumes which allow to use water more efficient. The puzzle type seat and cover allow to reduce unnecessary overlaping which saves material.
Research
During the CAD build a lot of fluid analysis were studied, a specialist was asked for consultancy.
Inspiration
The very first idea was to create something that has shape of the first letter of my name - V (the profile of the wc and the shape of internal tank). It was eventually changed because of functional reasons.

Project Overview
Versus Close-coupled WC has been a Iron winner in the Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware Design award category in the year 2013 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution.
