Convey has an anti-clockwise movement, also instead of having Hour and Minute hands to turn, it has one fixed needle to show the time. The face of the clock does not have a complete shape such as circle or other geometrical shapes, it is a circle quarter, also it is not fixed and it rounds. The minimal look of this clock is created by using line element and avoiding heavy and thick forms. Convey can get connected to Smartphones for time adjustment and to see the battery level.
convey, clock, conveytheclock, pouya, mirhosseini,
We usually use clocks to know the time, but recently most people use their smartphones or smartwatches to see the time, and clocks are getting to be vanished from Homes. clocks became boring and useless. By adding some interesting stories to tell in design and coordinating them with the ongoing life styles Convey tries to get back clocks among home accessories again. it can be charged by USB ports, connects to smartphones for adjusting the clock time. Materials are Iron rod, Plexiglas and ABS.
The firs challenge existed was finding a form and function that support this idea of anti-clockwise movement. Making a clock which is working different was the main challenge. there were not any examples of what Pouya had in his mind among the society and social media and the internet, nobody could help him with this but himself. so he started to work on the possibilities of the form and function because these two factors support each other and mach.
The project is done in March to July 2019 In Tabriz and it was performed at Tabriz Islamic Art University. After nearly one year of expanding, developing and upgrading the design, finally it has got finished in June 2020.
This clock has a Pendulum that moves anti-clockwise that has numbers on it, the needle attached to the body shows the time. Convey does not have primary battery, the battery is chargeable by USB port. Convey can get connected to smartphones. Convey Application able you to adjust the time, see the battery percentage and personalizing the pistol and pendulum Plexiglas color in some models.
The research started when the idea of Convey came to mind. First of all, searching about different kinds of clocks, functions, design of clocks, materials and also finding different type of clocks. At the next level when the process of modeling finished, it was important how to develop the design by choosing the right form, so form study and updating the design was the next step. During the presentation process It was necessary to search about the best way of presentation.
The idea of the Convey design came to Pouya mirhosseini's mind when he was laying on his bed and thinking it was interesting if he could get back in time in that moment. Then he was picturing in the moments having the time travel, hands of clocks are turning backward and anti-clockwise. Then he started to think why clock hands should turn clockwise, why right turning is clockwise, what if a clock hands turn anti-clockwise. So, he stared to think how can he break this rule and design a time machine, a clock.
