Lighting for Maytoni GmbH
The “Amulet” lamp family is inspired by the basic magic of natural objects and materials. Sacral images of African josses and the most modern lighting technologies were combined together to bring up one of the most ancient intuitive senses of domestic space enchantment that people experience since the pre-historic age. Handcrafted glass beads are strung on the chain base of modernly designed acrylic and LED elements to keep the soul light up in a modern living space.

Unique Properties
Amulet lights consist of handcrafted decorative glass and modernly designed acrylic and LED elements. The concept of lights combines the ancient traditions of mouth-blown glass production with modern LED technology.

Design Challenge
The key challenge was to develop minimalistic hidden technical solution for the wiring and fixings so that the solid exterior design remained uninterrupted.
Project Duration
Project development took place in Moscow and started in August 2020. Mass production market release is planned for December 2021.
Operation Flow
Every lamp in the Amulet series can perfectly fit in a residential or public interior. Open rings of LED lights can be the main source of space illumination. They are designed in several sizes, which makes it possible to create interesting compositions. The table lamp is primarily designed for public spaces such as cafes and restaurants and lobbies. It can become a statement interior table piece and create a cozy atmosphere.
Research
It is a creation of a unique design that combines modern LED technology and classic decorative glass elements in a graceful form that connects you with the traditions of jewelry of the distant past.
Inspiration
The basic magic of natural objects and materials is one of the most ancient intuitive senses that people experience since the pre-historic age. Gifts of nature were fully used to elevate the look and feel of the day-to-day reality. Accessories, decorations, and unique treasures were supposed to protect, encourage luck, bring love, comfort, and joy. We combined the sacral images of African josses and the most modern lighting technologies to create an amazing act of domestic space enchantment and keep the light up with the lamp family “Amulet”.
Project Overview
Amulet Lighting has been a Silver winner in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
