Design Challenge

The most challenging part is its structural design, which innovatively designs and applies mortise and tenon structure and lever principle to realize the disassembly and assembly function and firmness of the desk. The presentation effect of its structural modeling is perfectly integrated with contemporary aesthetics!

Project Duration

The project started in September 2020 in Hangzhou and finished in May 2021in Hangzhou.

Operation Flow

Open the packaging of the product and assemble the product in 3-4 steps, which is very convenient to operate. Leather pockets on the legs of the table can be installed as needed, and some books or tablet computers can be placed on them for easy storage. This is a versatile desk.

Research

Nowadays, the post-90s people have low income, narrow living space, love online shopping, often move, and pursue a certain quality of life. They need furniture that is flexible, multi-purpose, space-saving, convenient for transportation, simple and fashionable in shape to improve their quality of life. Double Ten Desk is designed for this kind of people. Its shape is simple and fashionable, its functions are complete, its storage is convenient, its structure is ingenious, and it can be disassembled and assembled by hand. The flat packaging design greatly reduces the transportation cost, so the price of the product is more affordable.

Inspiration

When designing the double ten desk, our main inspiration comes from the traditional mortise and tenon structure in China, and skillfully uses the lever principle to realize the disassembly and installation of the desk, which can greatly reduce the transportation cost of products.

Project Overview

Double Ten Desk has been a Iron winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution.
