The product is a set of cat hair cleaning tools, designed to facilitate the problem of cat users for the cleaning of scattered cat hair. The top of the product is the cat hair comb, which can remove a large amount of cat hair during the hair changing season. The lower part is the hair roller, which can remove the scattered and stuck cat hair. After use, the cat hair brush tail clasp can be stuck on the body of the hair roller to fix, when not in use can be hung.

Production Technology

For the comfort of the product, the product body is made of plastic with a skin-friendly frosted surface, and the tail sling is made of nylon.

Design Challenge

The challenge started with the uncertainty of how to ensure the functionality of the product and its aesthetics at the same time. After a certain number of sketches, discussions and experiments with our project, we finally found the right choice to achieve the desired result.

Project Duration

The project started in July 2022 in Yifeeling Design Studio and finished in February 2023 in 425 Design Studio in Nanchang University.

Operation Flow

The top of the product is a cat hair comb, which can remove a lot of floating hair from the cat during the hair changing season, when using, you need to take it off, toggle the side switch to rotate the comb, the floating hair will remain at the bottom of the comb, then press the button at the top of the comb to remove the cat hair. The lower part of the product is a hair roller, which can remove the cat hair that is scattered and stuck. After use, the cat hair brush can be fixed on the main body of the roller with the snap at the end of the brush, so it can be hung when not in use.

Research

During the shedding season, pet cats will experience hair loss and require regular removal of loose hair. Through research on the process of pet owners cleaning their pets' loose hair, they usually use a shedding brush to remove the main loose hair, and then use a lint roller to remove any remaining cat hair on the cat's body. Therefore, cat owners often have both a cat comb and a lint roller, which are frequently used and complement each other, leading to the design of this product.

Project Overview

Catom Mutifuctional Cat Hair Comb has been a Iron winner in the Pet Care, Toys, Supplies and Products for Animals Design award category in the year 2022 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution.
