This product is a dental teaching and training system based on Virtual Reality. Through the multimodal combination of VR vision, stereophonic audition and force feedback, two innovative teaching modes, namely "Hands on" and "Shared haptic", along with a training mode, have been designed to provide students with immersive stereoscopic operation experience and sufficient practical opportunities.

The system is mainly developed through Unity3D. The shell of the device can be made by ABS injection molding, which can not only meet the standards of medical devices, but also meet a certain strength and save the cost. The internal transmission and drive mechanism can use FRP and other materials with certain rigidity and fatigue resistance, which can ensure the stability and service life of the entire system.
The most challenging part is to explore and design a novel and effective teaching model that goes beyond mere visual and basic haptic effects in VR. This model should significantly improve students' learning efficiency and practical skills, enhancing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
The project started at Xi'an Jiaotong University in May 2022 and ended at Xi'an Jiaotong University in May 2023
By recording the operation information of the expert, In the teaching mode, it can generate a standardized visualized path track on where the adsorption force can be generated. And the students are guided to move along the operation track in a way similar to the teaching by holding their hands. And the operation track can also produce resistance, which allows students to experience the magnitude of the force feedback.
Currently, traditional training suffers from shortage of specimen resources, high cost and low efficiency. This product is a dental teaching and training system based on Virtual Reality. Through the multimodal combination of VR vision, stereophonic audition and force feedback, two innovative teaching modes, namely "Hands on" and "Shared haptic," along with a training mode, have been designed to provide students with immersive stereoscopic operation experience and sufficient practical opportunities.
In traditional dental education models, there are problems such as a shortage of anatomical specimens, high costs, and low efficiency, which lead to inadequate clinical training for students. The development of VR technology provides a promising solution for strengthening dental education by offering more realistic, efficient, and immersive virtual teaching and training experiences.
