Wet Toilet Paper for Jobs Chin, Alon J and Ye Nan
People with toileting issues like hemorrhoids or constipation often prefer moist toilet paper for comfort. Traditional moist toilet paper tends to be tricky to handle because the layers aren't distinct, leading to accidental tearing of multiple sheets. Ipick has innovated the design of wet toilet paper by making the edges of each sheet clearly visible. This allows for quick and clean single-sheet extraction.

People suffering from toileting issues, such as hemorrhoids, or constipation, often use wet toilet paper to alleviate pain and discomfort during bowel movements. However, most wet toilet paper is designed to be soft and retain moisture, and the interfolds within the paper are usually not visible, causing multiple sheets to tear off easily when pulled. Ipick has redesigned wet toilet paper, making the edges of each piece of paper visible, allowing you to quickly and smoothly pull out each sheet!
wet toilet paper, non-woven, single-sheet, soft, moist, easy separation, hygiene, comfort, sensitive skin, innovative design
The Ipick Wet Toilet Paper features a revolutionary design that enhances the visibility of sheet edges through a patented pattern-embossing process. This process uses precision rollers to create micro-patterns on the paper's surface, allowing each sheet to be easily distinguished and separated with minimal effort. Post-production, a specialized batch dyeing technique is applied for even color distribution and gentleness on sensitive skin.
The biggest challenge was gaining market acceptance for our wet toilet paper. We had to change entrenched user habits and compete with familiar brands. Overcoming this involved understanding consumer psychology, conducting market research, and creating an effective marketing strategy to highlight our product's unique value.
The project started in February 2024 in Chengdu and finished in April 2024 in Chengdu, and was awarded in K-DESIGN AWARD 24.
Ipick Wet Toilet Paper is designed for easy and clean use. To operate, simply pull a sheet from the pack, and the embossed edges ensure only one sheet comes out at a time, avoiding mess. The soft, moist texture gently cleanses, providing comfort and reducing pain during sensitive moments. Its performance is superior due to the even sheet separation, which is both hygienic and efficient.
Type of Research: User-Centered Design Study. Research Objectives: To improve wet toilet paper usability for those with toileting issues. Methodology: Mixed methods, combining qualitative user interviews and quantitative product testing. Data Collection and Tools: Surveys, interviews, and prototype testing kits. Participants: 86 adults with toileting issues, 54% male, 46% female. Results: 90% reported easier sheet separation; 85% felt increased comfort. Insights: Users prefer easy-to-separate sheets for hygiene and efficiency. Impacts: Design enhances user comfort and product acceptance in the personal care market.
Wet toilet paper is essential for people experiencing constipation, hemorrhoids and difficulty in bowel movements. It effectively relieves constipation and prevents related illnesses. However, it is made of non-woven fabric, which makes it softer but also more fragile. When pulling out wet toilet paper impatiently and quickly, it is easy to tear several layers that are stacked together.
