Production Technology

Crafted from durable silicone and recycled ABS, the focus on sustainability reduces reliance on disposable containers, aligning with the growing consumer demand for environmentally responsible products. We have make the 3-in-1 HandyClip able to withstand 1kg or 1000ml weight by adjusting the clip angle and strength of springs on the clip to make it safe & secure for transporting. The clip can be use with other silicone food bag on the market apart from our original Meal Purse

Design Challenge

One significant challenge in developing the EcoDeli Meal Purse was creating the 3-in-1 HandyClip as a mobile stand. We aimed to balance functionality and stability for hands-free viewing at adjustable angles (35 and 45 degrees). Material selection was crucial; we used recycled ABS for strength and silicone for grip. User testing revealed the need for a secure mechanism, leading to a snap-fit design. This iterative process ensured that the HandyClip integrated seamlessly with the meal purse, enhancing user experience while prioritizing sustainability.

The project start in Feb 2023 and finished in Feb 2024 in Hong Kong

Operation Flow

EcoDeli Meal Purse, the patented design is a versatile solution designed to enhance the entire food preparation, carrying, consumption and cleaning experience while being environmentally conscious. How to use- For pack & go: 1. You may fill the food into the meal purse through the big opening 2. Fold the meal purse and press the sealing edge firmly, hook up the secure rings on both side of the meal purse 3. Clip on the 3-in-1 HandyClip 4. Ready to go and carry the Meal Purse like a little fashion purse around with you. For Consume: 1. Remove the 3-in-1 HandyClip 2. Release the secure rings and Unfold the meal purse 3. Fold down the meal purse 4. Turn the 3-in-1 HandyClip into a mobile stand, it could be used in two angles 45 degree & 35 degree as you need. 5. Enjoy your food with entertainment hand-free.

Research

This design research employs a mixed-methods approach to explore the EcoDeli Meal Purse's impact on sustainable food consumption. The objective is to understand how this product meets contemporary needs while promoting eco-friendly practices. We utilized surveys and user interviews for data collection, employing tools like usability testing and design workshops. Participants included diverse consumers who regularly engage in on-the-go eating. Results indicated high satisfaction with the product's functionality and sustainability. Insights reveal a growing demand for multifunctional, eco-conscious solutions, influencing business strategies and societal attitudes towards waste reduction. This research highlights the essential role of thoughtful design in fostering sustainable consumer behavior.

The EcoDeli Meal Purse was created to address the demands of contemporary living, where consumers seek products that simplify their busy, on-the-go lifestyles. Focused on sustainability, it reduces reliance on disposable containers, aligning with the demand for eco-friendly products. The 3-in-1 HandyClip enhances the consuming experience while address the normal practice of people - enjoying hands-free video watching while eating. It is designed to transform traditional food containers into fashionable accessories, merging practicality with aesthetics.

Ecodeli Silicone Meal Purse has been a Iron winner in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design award category in the year 2024 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
