Redefines the visual and functional aspects of urban mobility. Inspired by the biomechanical structure of a dinosaur skull, its design leverages AI powered generative design and metal 3D printing to achieve organic, streamlined skeletal lines and complex geometric forms unattainable through traditional manufacturing. The design blends futuristic minimalism with retro nostalgia. Not only that, it also offers a wide range of customizable features. For instance, the LED lights at the rear can display any pattern or text according to the preference of the user, allowing for a personalized touch. The interior dashboard is designed with modularity in mind, giving users the freedom to decorate and adjust it to their preferences, creating a truly unique driving experience.

It combines generative design with industrial metal 3D printing, leveraging AI powered simulation design and structural topology optimization to maximize material performance and utilization, achieving both lightweight construction and enhanced strength. The simulation design helps identify weak points in the structure and optimize them, ensuring the vehicle maintains both aesthetics and functionality while achieving high strength and material efficiency. The body and chassis are entirely made using 3D printing technology, providing the vehicle with a unique structure and flexibility, breaking the limitations of traditional manufacturing.
The biggest challenge was integrating the biomimetic design with practical automotive manufacturing. Our goal was to create a body structure that is both aesthetic, efficient, and durable. However, the complex organic shapes and unconventional angles posed challenges in 3D printing. We overcame these challenges by using algorithms to adjust material distribution and printing angles, ensuring the design remained visually appealing, structurally strong, and optimized for the best printing results and stability.
The project started in June 2023 in China and completed the development phase in June 2024. The prototype was first exhibited at the Okinawa Expo in Japan in November 2024. It will be showcased next at the IAA Mobility exhibition in Germany in September 2025.
It is a micro electric vehicle designed for urban travel, offering simple operation similar to a regular car. Its main features include lightweight construction and high efficiency, providing a smooth and comfortable driving experience, especially for navigating narrow city streets with ease. It comes with an AI voice assistant that offers driving support and emotional companionship through voice commands. Additionally, it supports home charging, delivering superior performance and energy efficiency compared to traditional cars, ensuring an exceptional user experience.
Our research focused on designing an innovative urban mobility solution. The goal was to create a lightweight, efficient, and environmentally friendly electric vehicle using advanced technologies. We employed generative design and AI powered simulations to optimize structure and performance. Data was collected through prototyping and testing, focusing on material efficiency and user experience. Key participants included automotive engineers, industrial designers, and AI experts. Results showed significant improvements in strength, material usage, and energy efficiency, impacting automotive design and urban mobility.
Observing that most vehicles today are monotonous, we envisioned a highly personalized mode of transportation. Inspired by the biomechanical efficiency of dinosaur skulls, we created a vehicle that is not only durable and efficient but also stands out on the street, symbolizing both identity and attitude. Recognizing the challenges of narrow streets and limited parking in many European cities, we aimed to design a compact, efficient vehicle to help people navigate urban environments with ease. Through AI powered generative design and industrial metal 3D printing, we achieved complex organic geometries that seamlessly combine functionality, aesthetics, and innovation, resulting in a design unattainable through traditional methods.
PIX Beastie Two Seater Electric Vehicle has been a Golden winner in the Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design award category in the year 2024 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Gold A' Design Award is granted to designs that demonstrate a high level of innovation and a significant impact on their intended audience.
