TPH Leather is a compact design with paper sandwiched between two leather trays and taken out from above. The material and weight of the upper and lower tray cores are changed so that the paper can be taken out smoothly. The top is made of aluminum, which is in addition to there are a variety of leather variations, and take advantage of the characteristics of the leather to change sewing.

Unique Properties
Tissue paper which is a daily needs in your life, but it doesn’t look nice at your room. We solve the problem with our beautiful and brand new design TPH “Tissue paper holder”. Pick up paper from a package, and put the papers between the trays. That’s all how start to use. Reverse U-shaped form makes width shorter. Furthermore you can pick paper up very smoothly. It’s made by steel. That’s why you can also use as a post-it board with magnets. The upper body’s steel weight is 0.8t and the bottom one is 2.0t. Finding the selection of materials was the most difficult thing. The upper one is much lighter than bottom one, so you can pick a paper up very smoothly. This functional tissue paper holder fits anywhere such as an office room or a living room, and makes the place more beautiful.
Production Technology
It seems a simple design, but we had a lot of process for making a sample. The most difficult part was making move to take up paper smoothly from the holder. We had two problems which are weight of trays and balance of two props. We finally made this model at 4th sample. We imagine you to use next by laptop at your office. That’s why, we chose only two colors black and silver, and either of ones made mat finishing.
Project Duration
The design started in Tokyo in August 2018 and was completed in Ishikawa Prefecture in December 2018,and was exhibited at the hotel area of Gift Show Tokyo in February 2019.
Operation Flow
Put papers between two trays, and pick up from the upper tray. The upper tray have two props which are for fasting papers. For make smaller, made as reverse-U shaped and it adapt any size of papers. The right amount is 150〜160 paper which is about 4.5cm in thickness.
Research
The technology in this age is progressing, but tissue paper is always needed by anyone. We can change our daily needs into an interior products. Our products made by Japanese factories with high quality craftsmanship. TPH Steel was made by hand which make use of this craftmanship.
Inspiration
Where is tissue paper in your room? Hiding somewhere? Tissue paper is always a side character in your room, because it doesn’t fit your interior design. We try to make products which are able to fit any interior design. We only make with an eco material, and it will last a long time. We started to sell with a leather one at 2018, which fits a modern living room. This steel one made to fit a simple office.
Project Overview
TPH Steel Tissue Paper Holder has been a Iron winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards.
