CORINO 2.9-1.0 TPH is a series of innovative and universally designed tissue holders developed with lumber specialists who are engaged in the design of leather products, in harmony with any interior. In addition, It obtained a utility model in own new form. It was difficult to make to take out paper smoothly. Compact design that puts paper between two leather holders and takes it out from above, adopts a steel tray at the bottom of the holder and an aluminum tray at the top of the holder, so paper can be pulled out smoothly, practicality in addition to stability has also improved.

Unique Properties
Tissue paper which is a daily needs in your life, but it doesn’t look nice at your room. We solve the problem with our beautiful and brand new design TPH “Tissue paper holder”. Pick up paper from a package, and put the papers between the trays. That’s all how start to use. Reverse U-shaped form makes width shorter. Furthermore you can pick paper up very smoothly. It was a problem to make this form beautiful. This model uses metal between leather materials. The upper body uses aluminum and the lower one uses steel. Each weight is also different. It is also very difficult to sew, and the parts of the sewing machine are also original.For leather, we chose an environmentally friendly plant and chose an odorless material. How to sew is changed by the characteristics of the material. This leather model of TPH will last a long time as a furniture. It fits any interior design.
Production Technology
It seems a simple design, but we had a lot of process for making a sample. We spent a time to discuss about ways to sew leathers, the balance of shape, and the most difficult part was making move to take up paper smoothly from the holder.
Design Challenge
It was difficult to adjust that the body did not lift when pulling out the tissue and that it was not too heavy when pulling out the tissue. I was able to complete the shape with the help of a Japanese sheet metal manufacturing town factory and leather craftsmen. A new shape that eliminates the existing concept of showing rather than hiding.
Project Duration
The design started in Tokyo in August 2017 and was completed in Tokyo in June 2018,and was exhibited at Art Museum area of Gift Show Tokyo in September 2018.
Research
Put papers between two trays, and pick up from the upper tray. The upper tray have two props which are for fasting papers. For make smaller, made as reverse-U shaped and it adapt any size of papers. The right amount is 100〜120 paper which is about 3cm in thickness. As you know, the leather is a byproduct after eating beef. Therefore, we considered about the making process. That’s why, the Italian and Japanese leathers are made by vegetable tanning.
Inspiration
Where is a tissue paper in your room? Hiding somewhere? Tissue paper is always a side character in your room, because it doesn’t fit your interior design. We try to make products which are able to fit any interior design. We only make with an eco material, and it will last a long time.We started with the leather one as 1st model which fits a modern living room. This is made by a Japanese craftsman who is good at making a wallet. However, it’s going to cashless, and in the near future no one might has a wallet. We hope this TPH to become a part of new leather product instead of a wallet. We focus on the field for a craftsman. We considered to design TPH as “a brand new and universal designed product” which is able to make at even a small factory.

TPH Tissue Paper Holder has been a Bronze winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
