Wayfinding System for SHIYU
The design inherits Jiangnan culture and bamboo culture, and refines the shape and essence of bamboo by studying the classical paintings of Tang Yin, a famous painter in Ming Dynasty and Zheng Banqiao, a famous painter in Qing Dynasty. Using multilayer grinding and translucent acrylic overlay, baking white paint on the back and bamboo pattern silk printing on the back of acrylic, it shows the illusory mood of bamboo sea.

The designer has created a concise frame structure by using typical framing techniques derived from the South Chinese Garden, with the internal materials based on light-thin frosted acrylic flowing slowly like a lake water, where the bamboo leaves on the decorative surface are as if they were reflected on the surface of the water, and the changing ambient light will leave mottled and broken shadows on the surface, which is like sunlight shining on the sparkling water surface through bamboo forests, marking system the finishing touch in the public space of the hotel.

Multilayer frosted semitransparent acrylic is used for superposition. The back baked with white paint, bamboo patterns silk printed on the back of acrylic. Information silk printed on the outermost surface of acrylic to form different levels of space with the patterns. The copper frame fixed around the acrylic.
How to integrate culture into design and make it the core of design is the creative challenge faced by designers in the design process. How to find suitable materials to express the natural and comfortable shape of the reflection of the bamboo in water is the difficulty and focus in achieving the desired effect in the design process.

The fresh and elegant bamboo leaves swaying slowly with the wind, and the large area of bamboo leaf elements expressed in the interior decoration environment reflect each other,so that the guests staying there feel as if they are in the leisurely Nanshan Bamboo Sea,feeling the stillness and comfort of nature. The boundless bamboo sea sways gently with the wind, holding a " Pearl in South China"-Tianmu Lake in her arms. Making the hotel a pearl in Liyang City will be the goal of this design that inherits the unique Jiangnan culture and bamboo culture.
