Cadaques is a new type of luminaire: a spacer and light washer. The shade is made of VERTISOL fabric, a special outdoor fabric with IMO (International Maritime Organization) certification that guarantees its resistance to the most adverse environmental conditions. In addition, this luminaire is equipped with protection index 65 (Ip65) against solid and liquid bodies.

Production Technology

Design Challenge
We have two production partners in this project. The structure is produced in China and the textile is produced in Spain. To coordinate both companies for the assembly was diffocult.
Project Duration
The project started in July 2018 in Barcelona and finished in August 2019 in Barcelona.
Inspiration
Cadaqués is the name of a village on the Catalan coast. With a Mediterranean essence, full of charm and style. It evokes the enjoyment of outdoor spaces, taking us to the warmest months of the year. Inspired by beach loungers, it boasts special features for coastal outdoor spaces, as well as its own original design. The screen is made of VERTISOL fabric, a special outdoor fabric with IMO certification.
Project Overview
Cadaques Outdoor Lighting has been a Bronze winner in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
