furniture plus fan for Wonho Lee
Brise Table is designed with a sense of responsibility for climate change and a desire to use fans rather than air conditioners. Rather than blowing strong winds, it concentrates on feeling cool by circulating the air even after turning down the air conditioner. With Brise Table, the users can get some breeze and use as a side table at the same time. Also, it permeates the environment well and makes space more beautiful.

Brise Table is a furniture plus fan that can always be used as a side table while still enjoying the breeze. Rather than creating strong winds, it is focused on feeling cool by circulating the air even after turning down the air conditioner. Brise means breeze in French. The wind from the fan is not artificially strong. Strong winds can cause dizziness, even if they are cool for a while. A soft breeze circulates the air throughout the room, slowly lowering the temperature.

Acrylic - spray painted, Wood(Douglas fir) - CNC/lathe proceessed, Aluminium - laser cutted, Stainless steel - weldded
The top of the table shall be supported by the body and shall have a vents large enough to let the wind out. At first the vents were so small and densely designed that they were changed their size significantly and the material was also changed from acrylic to aluminum.
The project started in September 20219 in Seoul and finished in December 2019 in Seoul, and was exhibited in Hongik University in January 2020.
The control unit placed it at the bottom of the table so that it did not look like a machine, but the user can see it and recognize that it can be turned as a dial button. It can be operated in a total of three stages of power.
As the number of single-person households in Korea's Millennials is increasing, my friends including me are also living in single-person households. I asked them why they did not use electrical fans for climate change. They chose a space as the main reason. They usally stay in a small space, so they do not want to put the fan in their room. Also some of my friend said that the fine dust is big issue in Seoul, but fans are unused except only for summer and they are coverd with dust at home. In view of these problems, I gained two insights. First, it should not waste space. Second, it should be used all seasons.
The use of electric fan in furniture began with a sense of responsibility for climate emergency and a desire to use fans rather than air conditioners for the coolness of the distant future. Existing fans are left unused after summer. Particularly in single-person households, it is not appropriate for the unused machinery to spoil the space.
