Interior Cabinet for ELENA KORNILOVA ARCHITECTURE D'INTERIEUR
Fluid Cabinet made from eco-friendly materials and it is intended to be used in interior of Living and Office spaces for storage of documents or small everyday objects. The fluid pattern was inspired by the Chinoiserie art with it's fine tracery and its subtle sides. Dark brown texture cork is embedded like the natural circular lines on stone or wood, shaped by the strength of nature, bringing fluids movements on the cabinet. The bronze handles brought the sculptural elements to this cabinet demonstrating the skillfull craftsmanship.

Made from eco-friendly materials this Fluid Cabinet is excellent for storage of documents or small everyday objects. Delicate dark brown texture cork is embedded like the natural circular lines on stone or wood, shaped by the strength of nature, bringing fluids movements on the cabinet. The fancy bronze handles brought the sculptural elements to this cabinet demonstrating the skillfull craftsmanship. The interior dressed in dark matt brass for chic and elegance in each side like an haute-couture dress which is beautiful inside and outside.

Corps and shelves of Fluid Cabinet made from ECO Boards. This material is the best alternative of MDF because it is free from formaldehyde and chemical emissions. Then the corps is dressed by cork embedded with pattern of textured cork. Cork comes from the bark of the cork oak tree. This tree is only one whose bark can be remote without dying. After harvesting, the tree goes on to produce new layers and form its protective barrier. As the trees grow up, the harvests deliver thicker cork that is even better quality. Therefore this material is absolutely ecological by nature. For reinforcing cork from crumble and skretching we use special finish which stay invisible.
The hardest part of working on design of Fluid Cabinet was to unite aesthetic with techinical aspects. I carefully searched the suitable materials which combine a visual allure, technical characteristics for production, ecological representetive and good market price.
The project started in Febrary 2020 in Paris. We would like to exhibit it in Collectible Design 2021 in Bruxelles.
The Fluid Cabinet is intended to be used in interior of Living and Office spaces.
The idea was to work in artistic crafts technique and with natural ecological material. Cork is very attracting and inspiring for production stuff. Not only because it is very light, waterproof, solid, and sustainable but also because no tree is cut down to harvest cork which is extrimelly important for saving the nature. Also cork has a high level resistance to friction and tear caused by the numerous passages what is very important for furniture. Besides all these qualities I was fascinated by the aesthetic of cork which is warm and tactile.
The fluid pattern was inspired by the Chinoiserie art with it's fine tracery and its subtle sides. The concept was to combine artistic technic work and modern appearence.
