Chair for Cemil Yavuz
Mira is a chair that consists of three curved profiles basically. Two profiles are produced with the same angle and direction, the third one has a different shape. Depends on the user's choice, it can be used leaning left or right. Consisting of metal profiles, the product is lightweight and can be positioned around the table or singular. Since the chair is disassembled, users can assemble it themselves easily. In addition to its plain form, it has a visual quality that will attract attention with its nonstandard lines.

Two profiles bent in the same angle and direction and also one profile bents in a different way. Afterward, the main body is completed with the assembly of the fabric-covered seat and back surfaces. The product takes its final form by attaching height-adjustable plastic feet.

The chair's frame consists of a combination of three profiles. These are circle section stainless steel profiles. Two profiles bent in the same angle and direction, the other one bents in a different angle. Afterward, the main body is completed with the assembly of the fabric-covered seat and back surfaces. The product takes its final form by attaching height-adjustable plastic feet.
Iconic chairs designed in the historical process were examined during the design phase of the project. Based on the motto less is more, the product was aimed to have a plain appearance and also easy to produce. During the design phase, many different drawings were made for searching ideal form. While deciding on the form, it was being paid attention to angles that the machine could bend profiles during the production phase.
The chair can be used in both positions, leaning left or right. Consisting of metal profiles, the product is lightweight and can be positioned around the table or singular.
Since the product is designed as disassembled, users can take the product out of the box and install it themselves. The chair can be used in both positions, leaning left or right. As the starting point of the project, it was determined as a simple, light-looking product design that would harm natural resources as little as possible. One of the aims of the project is that it will not require too many processes as a production technique. It is designed to be lightweight and disassembled considering the shipment of the product. Users can easily install the product by taking it out of the box. With the linear differences in the form, it is aimed to be remarkable in the place where it is located.
In this design, it is aimed to reduce the extra labor force in production. The starting point of the design was to create the frame of the chair with only 2 different metal bending processes. At the same time, the product is intended to be lightweight and simple to assemble. It is not only a design that fulfills its functionality but also has a simple appearance visually.
Mira Chair has been a Iron winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution.
