Light for Natural Light
The fiction is lighting for indoor usages like a special restaurant or living room and more. The design of the product is based on functionality and emotion together to build a fascinating and useable structure that also reflects the base form of natural light and shadow. The combination of natural materials and the structure of shadow and light is created an attractive harmony, which is the essence of nature and light. The purpose of using natural materials for producing fiction is to represent natural identity in users.

Lighting has two aspects, a different form of light and second, the story within it. This light has an attractive and minimal form and a flexible structure. In the base part, we have a simultaneous combination of the shape of the tree trunk and the entanglement of the tree branches in a completely simplified way, which is made of wood. The light that shines out from inside the orbs and through the structure of the base tree is completely reminiscent of sunlight radiating between trees.

The light-shaped cylindrical base with a height of 1600 mm has been intertwined and softened into a form using wooden pieces that were connected to each other and finally cut and polished. The crows are made of a light metal structure that is placed inside a mold, surrounded, molded and baked by a combination of recycled wood particles and glue, and the surface is polished and matted black. Paper balls are formed on a light metal structure in such a way that sheets of recyclable paper are formed by water vapor on a spherical structure and are fixed by drying. The balls are formed by a light piece of aluminum into low-consumption LED lights. It connects to 14 watts and is lightweight due to its lightweight material and it is quite flexible. For each of the lights, there is a touch switch that adjusts the light intensity, which can be easily adjusted. For transportation, all lights and crows can be placed in a basic cylindrical form and easily transported.
Our main challenge was to interact and make the user think about the identification of an artifact through the story. The available lights are always more practical, while we think the product should make the audience think as well. We did not want to change products, we wanted to create identity and interaction within products. An interaction that makes the users think more and more. There is a legend in which crows give their light to the earth to bring life to light, in the story of our product, crows represent the identity and rebirth of light in a modern and minimal light. One of the main purposes was to use elements that are reminiscent of nature. Nature within the modern world is something that saves the audience and keeps them away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
This is absolutely new concept project, that our team get started near 3 months ago in Istanbul.
Light tries to be more than just a product. A light that is simple and attractive, can accompany the audience with the story inside. We designed the feeling and the story in an attractive format. The structure has simple and minimal structure made of natural wood and paper materials and the form is inspired by nature. Interactive design or usage of the elements of crows and light balls * can be moved free from their choices. Changing the position of the lights creates different light angles and the light intensity can be adjusted. The story that is about the position of the crows in relation to each other is another factor that engages the audience with this light. The crows have been completely simplified in terms of form and have taken on an origami form, which along with their matte black color, has completely reduced the light crowd and added to its charm. The spheres are made of Esc paper and the light is made of low-consumption LEDs that create a special warmth by passing light through the paper texture. Crows are made from recycled materials to do less damage to the environment and a sustainable product was designed. However, in general, this light tries to separate the audience from the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a moment through interaction and distraction, and to illuminate a light in them. The overall product form is a comprehensive form for all office and residential environments. Monotone color and limited material have given this light an attractive and special look.
During the design experience, we realized that light is always one of the factors that most or perhaps unwillingly affects the audience, but the light is not just a physical, industrial and dry product. Different lights have incredible effects on the audience, so we tried to change the industrial and bare structure of common lights. Light is not a single component and does not have one dimension, the shadows that are produced by light sources must also be designed as a second dimension. A light can easily evoke a feeling and impress the audience, so we tried to make our light interactive. We tried to add light to the story and create an interaction that makes the audience think. Natural light has the best effect on the audience, so we tried to enrich the audience by designing light and shadow at the same time. Flat and direct lights are always quite annoying, but creating an irregular and balanced form of light and shadow in closed environments increases the tranquillity of the environment and encloses the audience. The usage of natural elements such as crows along with their story and the design of shadows by placing light within the internal structure was a creativity that made the product a more complete effect.
A product must engage the user and has a deconstruction and creative interaction with its audience. The main idea was inspired by a legend. In ancient myths, crows lent their inner light to human life and immersed themselves in darkness to find life. They have the secret of light in their darkness. The main goal for us was to create the story and tell it in a light with elements of the natural environment. Light is a sacred element of the past, light means * the absence of darkness.
