A story that originated from the sense of women - as delicately and carefully, ossified and just as carefully nurtured its roots by maintaining and creating empty spaces between them. It is as if the bones gave life and growth to its delicate, firm, and strong existence and then found itself immersed in a light, or other words, a light that blossomed from within. Sepideh got its name from the alien, so when a person feels like a foreigner or alien, her inner roots are like a new life. The roots inside have a longing to be freed and rely on the safe point of the boundary.

Production Technology

This lighting was created and inspired by looking inside myself and the human and emotional aspects of the people around me at this time when the world is all speaking with one voice about women and their life and manifestation in the world. Now that the lighting structure grows its roots from the delicate and hollow network inside and reaches its safe and reliable framework from every angle, it turns that structure into a connected whole and a pure and integrated structure. When the tubular pieces are based on their foundations and become pillars like a chest protecting the heart, it creates a pure being. That is when the light manifests in it. Design Challenge

To create this the designer aimed to innovatively combine 3D printing technology with modular organic forms so the entire piece could be produced in a specific way, with ecological materials.

Project Duration

The project started in AUGUST 2022 Zanjan and finished in NOVEMBER 2022-ZANJAN-IRAN

Operation Flow

The Alien light has been designed to provide both direct downlighting and indirect side lighting.The Alien offers a beautiful play of light and reflection throughout the day. When illuminated, soft, lines of light appear. The Alien, its form gives the illusion of floating in a mysterious, and encourages the audience to discover. Everyone can hang it into the place with very amiable atmosfere.

Research

In designing this work, I found myself as a human and a woman inside it. In order to follow my first idea and inspiration from this piece, I based my research more on understanding & touching the feminine feeling that arose from looking at powerful women around the world. As a designer, I feel the responsibility to design works that give the human soul a sense of value to reach light and brightness regardless of gender.

Inspiration

I got its name from the alien, Alien is an adjective, and it means when someone or something has distinctive features with the characteristics of a place, time, or style, so when a person feels like a foreigner or alien, her inner roots are like a new life.The roots inside have a longing to be freed and rely on the safe point of the boundary. It grows strong and delicate so that it can establish and strengthen itself in the framework of wealth and strength and its foundation and rely on itself.
