Production Technology
The luminous front face features over ten thousand 0.2mm holes, achieved by patented micro hole laser engraving technology. It meets safety and durability standards and ensures an even light distribution without revealing the base color. The exterior is available in six colors, echoing the beauty of seasonal landscape. Inside, door panels with ripple patterns and various amenities borrow views from cultural landscape. All contribute to a redefined mobility experience with technological elegance.
Design Challenge
Addressing the challenge of integrating high value, Geely Galaxy E8 integrates insights into user demands and craftsmanship that balance inheritance with innovation. Inspired by traditional Chinese artistic interpretations of light, its exterior radiates a sleek and refined allure. Further enhanced by 25 aerodynamic improvements, it achieves a low drag coefficient of 0.199. This improves economic and energy efficiency, highlighting a design responsible for users and the environment.
Project Duration
Geely Galaxy E8 was unveiled in China in October 2023, followed by a debut in Saudi Arabia in November. It hit the Chinese market officially in January 2024 and is scheduled for a global release.
Operation Flow
The smart cockpit stands out with user friendliness and technological prowess. The 8K screen at 45 inches is comparable in height to a mainstream smartphone, offering driving visibility and an intuitive layout. It enables users to quickly adapt their experience from using a smartphone to interacting with a much larger interface, ensuring smoother and safer operation. Further enhanced with AI powered interactive features, the cockpit promises a convenient and immersive experience.
Research
In the rapidly evolving smart EV market, fuel cars still hold sway in the C segment vehicle sector. Recognizing this gap, Geely Galaxy E8 was designed. It has introduced a smart cockpit that captures the classic, refined Chinese aesthetics and merges technology with culture. Built on the Sustainable Experience Architecture, this sedan boasts a battery safety system that offers comprehensive protection against impacts, and ensures improved maneuverability. In this design, high value meets the C segment new energy vehicle.
Inspiration
The exterior captures the imagery of a tiger poised to rush, with headlights mimicking its intense gaze. These designs radiate Eastern allure. Designed with users in mind, the interior is roomy and opulent, offering improved user experiences. Geely evolves its super symbol, ripple, into a unique grille named Ripples of Light, and adorns the interior with ripples to evoke an ambience like being surrounded by the West Lake. This visual connection grants the brand with a distinct identity.

Geely Galaxy E8 Electric Vehicle has been a Platinum winner in the Car and Land Based Motor Vehicles Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Platinum A' Design Award is recognized for honoring designs that stand at the forefront of creativity and innovation. It is the highest accolade bestowed by the A' Design Awards, acknowledging works that blend remarkable innovation with impactful societal contributions.
