Designers believe that a new generation of furniture series should be free from the routine, more convenient and return to nature. Therefore, the Yupro series of furniture is a speculation about the development trend of Chinese furniture in 2023.The collection consists of four pieces of furniture that can be disassembled and housed in a wooden carrying case that is easy to carry. Each time the user uses the suitcase, the internal components are stitched together to get the desired furniture.

Design Challenge

Yupro is a speculation about furniture in China in 2023.The most difficult convenience is how to present our simple lifestyle for the future.We wanted the product to be simple and free, and the thought process to be easy, but how to fit the assembled parts easily into the suitcase was also a structural challenge.

Project Duration

Beginning in December 2018 at TheFutureLab, ending in May 2018.

Operation Flow

We think that for the nomads of the future, life will be simpler and less material.All the user needs to do is carry a suitcase that fits him, and the most suitable lifestyle can be easily kept in the suitcase.By stitching together the interior components of the suitcase each time you use it, you can create the furniture you want anytime, anywhere.

Research

Yupro - Living on your road is a speculation on furniture in China 2023. Yupro is a collection of mobile furniture designed for urban nomads who seek new form of freedom: freedom from routine, traditional values, and geographic restraints. Yupro celebrates this growing trend of being mobile by creating a range of portable products that define today’s nomads. The collection includes a table, a bench, a stool and a shelf, four basic typologies in a household which gives people the freedom to call entire world their home.At each use, open a convenient location and splicing the internal components to the cabinet to create the furniture you want.

Inspiration

Today, we have more mobility than ever before, spending time in different cities, working in different places and exploring the world through traveling around the world has become very common. Yupro is a series of mobile furniture designed for urban nomads seeking new freedoms, which means that our living style is no longer subject to conventional, traditional values and geographical constraints.
