New Chinese Style for Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts

The whole inspiration of the chair comes from ancient Chinese architecture. The back of the chairs are separated from the armrest, the lines are dense and orderly. The curvature of the cushion and the details of the handrails curve not only meet the needs of the comfort of sitting posture of a person, but also increase the quality and delicacy of the chair. The table is inspired by the mortise structure of the ancient attic. The middle partition board is arranged by logs and can be used to place articles.

Production Technology

Black walnut is used as a whole, and wood wax oil is applied on the surface to keep the natural color and touch of wood. The connection part is painted copper with aluminum alloy, which can increase the adhesion and oxidation ability of the coating and the metal surface, with good corrosion resistance and processing performance.

Design Challenge

Combining Chinese furniture with modern furniture to meet a wider range of public aesthetics.

Project Duration

The design project began in January 2019 in Shenyang, was completed in June 2019, and was exhibited in the art museum of Shenyang Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in June 2019.

Operation Flow

The seat back fits the person's back shape, which can help people to make a correct sitting posture, which is suitable for entertainment, reading and other activities.

Research

In recent years, traditional culture is being re recognized, and environmental protection issues are concerned. With the participation of a large number of young consumers, new Chinese furniture has begun to change to a more macro perspective to meet the new consumption habits. From the perspective of design, new Chinese furniture is no longer limited to the integration of traditional Chinese style and modern simple style, but combines the concept of product design with more traditional themes. Such as garden, Huizhou architecture, blue and white porcelain elements.

Inspiration

The whole inspiration of the desk comes from ancient Chinese architecture, and the shape of the chair back comes from the eaves of Hui style architecture, with a slight elastic arc on both sides. Inspired by the tenon and mortise structure of the ancient attic, the table is arranged in a staggered and orderly way. The two sides of the table board are slightly raised, like the cornice of ancient buildings.
