This is a set of casual furniture consisting of chair and tea table. Its advantage is that it is both lively and rhythmic. It uses the stainless steel tube after bending welding forming, forming a solid and stable structure as the support frame, which is durable and cost-effective. Tabletop, chair face and armrest with wood add comfort and beauty. Stainless steel tube extension trend coincides with wood edge rhythm. The stainless steel tube pipe arrangement in the back of the chair increases the design of the chair and makes the whole furniture look lively and light.

Production Technology

The design of wood using machinery and manual processing, metal pipe using bending, cutting, welding and other processing technology. The main material of the furniture is stainless steel tube and Brazilian rosewood.

Design Challenge

The creative challenge in the process is to make boring stainless steel tube lively and rhythmic, and to increase the comfort of furniture.

Project Duration

The design project began in January 2018 in Shenyang, was completed in June 2018, and was exhibited in the art museum of Shenyang Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in June 2018.

Operation Flow

This furniture is designed for various purposes, such as office, study, and life. Designed to fit people sitting posture and habits, it is suitable for a variety of sitting postures, sitting on a chair with their feet down, and the seat back fits the shape of the person back, which can help people to make a correct sitting posture, suitable for entertainment, reading and other activities.

Research

The advantage of furniture is that it is both lively and light, and has a sense of rhythm. It uses stainless steel tubes to be welded after bending to form a solid and stable structure as a supporting skeleton, which is durable and cost-effective.

Inspiration

Design inspiration comes from the texture of wood. By refining the line rhythm of wood texture, using the stainless steel tube as the line, wood as the surface, to form a stable structure and lively with rhythmic style.

Project Overview

Elegance Comfortable To Use has been a Iron winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards.
